  1. One of the best live concert CD's with Rush providing some of their best work when keyboards/synthesizers became a big part of their work. I know some Rush purists will say this wasn't Rush, but it showed how these three continued to evolve/5().
  2. Editors’ Notes Neil Peart exhibits his rhythmic dexterity with drum showcase "The Rhythm Method," but that one brief exercise aside, A Show Of Hands focuses on the Canadian power trio's carefully crafted songwriting. Rush spent the ‘70s writing elaborate, conceptual pieces that required deeper concentration than most. By the ‘80s, spurred on by the success of Permanent Waves and Moving.
  3. A Show of Hands was released in The band released a video of the same name, originally released on VHS and laserdisc, the same year. DVD versions were later released in and The album was recorded in Birmingham (UK), New Orleans, Phoenix, and San Diego during the Hold Your Fire tour as well as in the Meadowlands (East Rutherford, NJ) during the Power .
  4. Although keyboards dominated Rush 's double live set A Show of Hands, it's a definite improvement over its somewhat flat predecessor, 's Exit Stage Left. The band's music isn't as hard rock-based as it previously was, evidenced by the more modern-sounding compositions selected for this third live album (the first Rush album to be produced completely by the band).7/

  6. Like every era of Rush's career, they usually end things with a live album. The synth era was no different, with their third live release, 's A Show of Hands. First things first - the video version of this release is infinitely better, due to the fact that we get to see late 80's renditions of Rush classics like "In The Mood" and "Tom Sawyer".
