  1. Nachdem für 2 Alben (Beatin the Odds & Take no prisoners) Jimmy Farrar das Mikro von Danny Joe Brown bei Molly Hatchet übernommen hatte, kam mit "No guts no glory" wieder Danny Joe Brown zurück an's Mikro und macht genau dort weiter, wo er mit "Molly Hatchet" und "Flirtin with Disaster" aufgehört hatte (damit ist aber nicht gemeint, dass /5(53).
  2. No Glory were composed by outsiders, and to no surprise are the weakest cuts from the entire recording, with the mellow "Kinda Like Love" serving as nothing more than filler. By contrast, Molly Hatchet get back to business on the playin'-by-my-own-rules .
  3. In a retrospective review, AllMusic's Michael B. Smith praised Molly Hatchet for the "return to the powerful sound that was so prevalent on its debut effort" and compared it to "the best Lynyrd Skynyrd record" and to a "hard rock vein reminiscent of Mountain or early Grand Funk Railroad".

  7. ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED IN THE GEORGIA STRAIGHT, MARCH 4, By Steve Newton. Easily the best hard-rock album I’ve heard yet this year, Molly Hatchet’s No Guts No Glory even outdoes their earlier blockbusters Flirtin’ With Disaster and Beatin’ the Odds.. Growling vocalist Danny Joe Brown is back in the Hatchet lineup after fronting his own band for two years, and the rhythm section.
