  6. There are also two Grisman originals. The first is "Dawggy Mountain Breakdown," which was written by Grisman and first recorded with his group, the New York Ramblers, in He recorded it again on his album DAWG JAZZ/DAWG GRASS with Earl Scruggs on banjo (a version used as the theme for NPR's "Car Talk")/5(8).
  7. The flip side of the LP (not yet issued on CD) finds Grisman's string group, Mike Marshal, Tony Rice, Rob Wasserman plus guest banjoist Earl Scruggs, stretching the boundaries of the bluegrass idiom on tunes such as "Swamp Dawg," "Dawggy Mountain Breakdown," and "Happy Birthday, Bill Monroe." A diverse and continually interesting set.
